¶ Igor Sladoljev (1988) is an architect and urban planner from Zagreb (HR), based in Amsterdam (NL). He has extensive experience working across scales in the field of architecture, urban design and urban planning in Croatia, Australia, Germany, Russian Federation and The Netherlands.
As a researcher, he explores the production of space through cinematic narratives, most notably exhibited in 14th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia and Shenzhen Bi-City Bienalle of Urbanism/Architecture exhibition ‘Eyes of the City’.
He recently completed a film on the machine learning prediction algorithms and their prospective impact on the environmental and human scales called Shanzhai Sonata. It's based on an ongoing research project called Presense, which began at The New Normal1 at Strelka Institute of Media, Architecture and Design and was developed in collaboration with Gleb Papyshev, Sveta Gorlatova and Artem Nikitin.
Currently, he is holding a position of Head of Research at a Dutch architecture and planning firm De Architekten Cie. where he works on the ongoing research into circular economy and building.
